NEWSIMPROVING HOUSING MARKETS: TEXAS STANDS TALL

WASHINGTON, D.C. (NHAB) - Nearly a third of the 23 housing markets listed on the October National Association of Home Builders (NAHB)/First American Improving Markets Index (IMI) are in Texas.

The index reveals metropolitan areas that have shown improvement for at least six months in housing permits, employment and housing prices.

Texas markets making the list were Amarillo, McAllen, Midland, Odessa, Sherman, Waco and Wichita Falls.

"While Pittsburgh and New Orleans remain the two largest improving markets, the October IMI is heavily weighted by smaller cities in which energy and agriculture are the primary economic drivers and where the effects of the recession have been less pronounced, " said NAHB Chief Economist David Crowe. "In particular, Texas stands out for its seven entries on improving markets list."

Last month, only 12 housing markets nationally were listed in the index.

Vice President Vicki Conquest Niblett of Decatur has worked in the industry since 1985. Vickie has been with WISE COUNTY TITLE COMPANY since January of 1992 and currently serves as Closer and Escrow Officer and has taken charge of policy production.

Secretary/Treasurer Brenda McComis of Bridgeport serves as Company Comptroller and Bookkeeper and has been with WISE COUNTY TITLE COMPANY since 1998.

Vice President Debbie Remmele Baber of Paradise has been in the title industry since 1976 and has been with WISE COUNTY TITLE COMPANY since 1999. She currently serves as Closer and Escrow Officer.

Andy and Alice Townes of Lake Bridgeport, the newest members of the WISE COUNTY TITLE COMPANY ownership team, have been with WISE COUNTY TITLE COMPANY since November of 2002, bringing with them 60 years of combined experience.

Vice President Alice Townes currently serves as Closer and Escrow Officer.

Andy Townes is an Examiner and Manager of Title Operations.

WISE COUNTY TITLE COMPANY employees represent much of the area and aim to be sensitive to the needs of Wise County residents. We take a lot of pride in the work we do. That pride is something passed on from Jerry and Debbie Hearrell.
